He has a strong unrepentant base of young devoted supporters and "was" one of the GOP Presidential candidates, and still is. A self-proclaimed stickler for the constitution, once referred jokingly in a debate by Mitt Romney as the "Constitutionalist", the man is Ron Paul, widely known for his libertarian-leaning views.

In the delegates count, he is last behind Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich. Santorum and Gringrich have since suspended their campaigns, but Ron Paul is not about to do same.

According to a statement from Ron Paul, his team will quit active campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. "Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted...doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have." he said.

Ron Paul campaign’s focus would be in securing delegates towards the party’s upcoming convention.

"Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future," he further stated.
