As we look forward into the expectations and thrills that the New Year 2014 brings, let us have a look at some of the events that is going to take the centre stage in the year. The tennis faithful are on the front row of the action when the court will witness a raise of dust as the Australian Open kicks off between 13-26 January, in Melbourne and the Davis Cup by January 31. The vibrant city of New York is the next stop as it hosts the Super Bowl XLVIII which will be held at MetLife Stadium. Adam Scott was in fine form in 2013 when he won the US Masters and he needs to do better than last year if he is to defend his title when the 2014 US Masters gets underway in April 11-14. The most football-obsessed, party-time country, Brazil is set to host the biggest sporting event in the world as FIFA World Cup holds June 12-July 13. The Formula 1 Motor Racing is next in Le Mans, June 14-15 and finally the nations assemble at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, July 23-Aug 3.
The year is definitely loaded with so much for the sporting world to look forward to. The sweat and tears will be captured by waiting camera lens as emotions are betrayed positively or negatively. It is surely not going to be a disappointing year, only time will tell.
